pinch pot cut in half
small animal
pinch pot fitted lid
For my small animal project I wanted to make my cat moe. I took a ball of clay and shaped out a body of a cat. I slipped and scored the tail on it. I added 2 little paws in the front. Added a small peice of clay where his mouth is to make it 3d and like a snout. Then made little ears on top. I used black for his sunglasses and paws. and a grey glaze for the body and went over it with black to add detail into the fur. I really like how this turned out because its simple and actually looks like my cat. What I could have done better is make the sunglasses look better and not as rough around the edges. It does'nt look as realistic around his ears. I could have added black around the nose as well.
2 pinch pots
for all my pinchpot projects, I struggled in the beggining because I could not get an even bowl and even sides. I started with a ball of clay for each, and used my thumbs and fingers to shape out the pot. I used a sharp tool to cut off the top while spinning it fast so the top would be cut off even. This method worked for all them. The fitted lid I made sure had a fitted lid so it wouldn't fall through and made a little nub to pick up the lid. I made 2 pinch pots and stacked them on top of eachother to create a larger vase, I should have smoothed out the edgess to make it look like an actual vase. I struggled with make the sides smooth and round. I could have spent more time with a different shape. I Do like how my fitted lid looks and It has a cute little lid and it could be used for anything. the pinch pot i made thats a usefull one is one i planned to make for my cat moe. He does eat out of it and its perfect. I spent the most time on this pot so it would look good for my family. I made it as even as possible and smoothed out the top and engraved the letters moe and made the O a paw print. I really liked how that turned out and the color glaze I used with the speckles and it makes it look like cat food. to make this betterx time I will make the bowl way bigger because my cat is fat and needs to fit more food in.

relief tiles
I made these 2 relief tiles, it is a peanut butter and jelly one. I made the bread first and then added another slab on top thats shaped like the jelly and peanut butter. I added little holes to make the detail.I shape the bread to have crust as well. I like how this turned out because It is funny and 3d so it looks like a sandwhich you can stack and eat! next time I will make the bread more thick and bigger so it looks more realstic. And for the other tile I did a car that is indented in his stomach. I carved out the stomach, paws and fur marks. then i used my fingers to make the stomach deeper . I love how this turned out because orange cats are my favorite and i like how the stomach is deeper than the rest of his body. and he is really cute. Next time i will probably add more detail to his eyes nose and ears to make it look more like a cat
I wanted to make a cup that has the painting stary night by vincent van gough because I love this painting and the style of it. I took a slab of clay and wrapped the sides into a tall ish cup. I will use for pens and stuff. I painted the stary night wrapped all around the sides of the cup with multiple colors of blues, yellow and a black. I really like how I painted all around the cup not just the front of it. i like that I painted the inside of the cup with black so it will look super deep and black. If I could change something I would add a little more detail with the blues and swirls. And i should have made the cup even and not lumpy on top. The sides aren't perfect and symetrical
