slab building with darts
for this project, i cut out a cross looking slab of clay. and then took each end and stood it up and connected the edges and slip and scored so they would stick together and form a cup. I then cut out the exact shape of the bottom of the peice to create the lid and added a little nub for the top. I like this project because it is a creative way to make a cup without just doing a pinch pot or being on the wheel. I could have done a lot better by first, making the cross even and so all the sides of the building even . And making the edges smooth so it looks fancy and nicer.
slab building with slump mold
for this peice, I made a slab of clay, and rolled it out with a rolling pin. And then layed it over a small plate. To create a mold so it would be that same shape. I didnt even realize this technique was an option and it was really cool. I did not flatten it out flat enough and so it could have worked and looked a lot better if It fit in the plate better. I like this project because it is super simple but can work really well and become actually useful. If i did it again i would make it more even and take more time to round the edges.

coil building
for this coil building I used the little coil tool and pushed out a long thin coil. then made a flat peice for the bottom. I started stacking up the coil and wrapped it around and around to make it tall. I actually like how this turned out because of how the design looks and how it looks like a spiral. I wish i would have made it a little taller so itd be a tall cup and used thicker coils so the cup would be more sturdy. I enjoyed doing this project because of the technique and I like how it turned out.
for this project I really liked doing the sgrafifto because it was extremely satisfying to carve out and make a cool design out of it. I made this flat slab and made it a weird random shape rectangle. and realized it kind of reminded me of a city building. So i carved out city windows and building shapes and really enjoyed how it turned out. I used this baby blue glaze underneath and i like how it looks. Next time if i do this i would spend a little more time on the details in the buildings and be more paitent. I did really like carving with the tools to scrape off the top.
for this monster project, i really enjoyed it because i loved the idea of creating a 3d project out of a little kids idea. of a monster. I chose this purple one because I think it was the most fun looking one and i liked the color. I Made the body and added a huge eye in the middle and then all the little teeth in the mouth. I liked smoothing it out with a paint brush. I at first didn't make it hollow enough so i had to re do the whole project. i like how i ddi the eye though, and im excited to glaze it just like the colors he used and the purple, red, green, and black. I had trouble making the teeth look good and stay inside the mouth. i love how the eye turned out and the detail in the pupil.
